They managed to hide for some time but were eventually found. At 6 years old Omari’s village was attacked by rebels and Omari and his parents fled into the bush. Musa is now graduating from school and you will usually find him tinkering with some electrical device, whether trying to repair an old radio, fixing someone’s cell phone, wiring a house, or helping install solar at Grace Orphanage. Musa has been in the care of Grace Orphanage since 2012. He then lived with a friend of his mother who also died sometime later. 2 years later his father died from Diabetes. MUSA NGWENYAīorn in Kasenga, Uvira, his mother was killed after being raped by soldiers.

All orphans have been found alone and abandoned. So far, 27 of our orphans have graduated to high school, and 2 will attend university this year. 30 of the children attend a local school which is a 20 minute bus ride, or a 50 minute walk away. Currently, we house 33 orphans, ranging in age from 7 to 18 years old.
